Who is Dr. Kim?

A native of the Pacific Northwest near Seattle, Dr. Kim graduated magna cum laude from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He went on to earn his medical degree from Tufts University in Boston. Returning to the University of Washington, he continued his education with an internship in medicine followed by a residency in ophthalmology. Dr. Kim then joined the premier New York Eye & Ear Infirmary in New York City for a distinguished fellowship specializing in glaucoma under the tutorage of Drs. Ritch, Liebmann and Tello.


Dr. Kim is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has co-authored various research papers; most notably, the consensus report on trabeculectomy for the Association of International Glaucoma Societies – guidelines published for all glaucoma surgeons around the world. Dr. Kim held a research fellowship in corneal healing and served on the Medical Education Representative Committee. In addition, he was a member of The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.


At Center For Sight, Dr. Kim performs advanced diagnostic exams, glaucoma and cataract surgery, glaucoma laser therapy and implantation. As a specialist focusing on glaucoma, he is skilled in laser therapy, trabeculectomy, AquaFlow® Implantation and SLT treatment. Dr. Kim is committed to bringing his patients the best care with the latest medical advancements by remaining on the leading edge of glaucoma research and treatment.


Dr. Kim leads an active life in Venice with his wife, Janna. He enjoys taking in a few rounds of golf, or joining a game of volleyball, softball or basketball.
