How common is hearing loss?

More than 55 million Americans are estimated to suffer from hearing loss significant enough to have a debilitating effect on communication, and 80% of that group are undiagnosed or untreated. As our population continues to age, the problem is growing. Recent studies show up to 50% of Baby Boomers are experiencing significant hearing loss as much as 20 years earlier in life than previous generations.
