After a mini-facelift, discomfort will likely be minimal, but can be controlled with oral pain medication if needed and cold compresses.
It is recommended that patients keep the head elevated when resting and sleeping during the initial stage of mini-facelift recovery. Sutures dissolve in about one week after surgery. Many patients are able to return to work just several days after surgery, but bruising is present for 7-10 days.
