As a musician, composer and recording artist it is absolutely vital for me to have the best possible vision. I rely heavily on my eyes, especially when I’m recording music in my studio. This requires intense visual work on the computer, which can be extremely demanding. Also, as a musician, I work a lot at night and driving with impaired vision is not an option, it is much too dangerous! I am thrilled to say that since my operation with Dr. Shoemaker, working on studio recordings is now an absolute pleasure, no more eye strain! And my sight now is extraordinarily clear for night driving, which is a big relief!
With the upcoming YES anniversary tour, I’ve been busy rehearsing, composing and working with new technologies. I feel secure knowing that I’ll be performing without giving a second thought to any visual hindrances because they are now gone forever! As a musician, there is no feeling that compares to performing in front of a live audience… and how amazing it will be to “clearly” see the audience!
I conducted a lot of research before choosing Dr. Shoemaker as my cataract surgeon, but the choice was clear when I read that he has done over 100,000 cataract surgeries. Upon meeting him, I quickly realized he is an absolute perfectionist, and when it came time for my surgery, I witnessed a beautifully orchestrated surgical process. It was flawless, from the professionalism of the staff to the ultimate outcome of my surgery. As the founder and mastermind behind this center of excellence, combined with the exceptional care he provided me, I feel he is simply a genius!
The best part is that I feel as though my vision is continually getting better and better every day! The clarity brings me joy and inspires me daily. I believe it has had an impact on my music as well; it’s absolutely amazing and I feel as though I’ve been reborn!
