Friday May 20, 2011 - Cataracts are the #1 preventable cause of blindness in the world. Every year, doctors around the U.S. take part in Mission Cataract -- a program to provide cataract surgery to those who can't afford it . Wednesday, Center For Sight performed 30 surgeries for free, giving patients a whole new look at the world.

Thursday Oct 21, 2010 - October 21-23, 2010 - Center For Sight was proud to be the presenting sponsor for "Wine, Women & Shoes" -- Three days of events benefiting the Parenting Education Programs at Forty Carrots Family Center in Sarasota. A private winemaker reception, signature luncheon, and gourmet dinners in private homes and local restaurants contributed to a very successful fundraiser. Forty Carrots Family Center is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to strengthening families through educational programs for parents, their children and professionals in the field.
Florida's Vision Quest
Friday Oct 8, 2010 - Friday, October 8, 2010 - Florida's Vision Quest benefited from Sarasota's second annual "Doctor Idol" competition, a popular battle of the bands featuring local musician/physicians. Center For Sight was the presenting sponsor of Doctor Idol 2010, with proceeds going to Florida Vision Quest, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children in need of vision care and eye exams. Florida's Vision Quest provides free vision exams and new glasses, working to ensure that our most vulnerable children can see clearly enough to read. In 2010 alone, the Florida's Vision Quest program has served over 14,000 children throughout the state.
Faces by Fezza, Look Good, Do Good
Wednesday Sep 29, 2010 - Wednesday, September 29, 2010 -- Center For Sight's Cosmetic Facial Surgeon John Fezza, MD, hosted a pre-bash fundraiser leading up to Forty Carrots Family Center's exclusive Wine, Women & Shoes 2010 three-day event. "Faces By Fezza -- Look Good, Do Good," offered a glamorous evening with wine, hors d'oeuvres and special pricing on products and services including Botox® and Juvederm® treatments, raffle prizes and "Look Good, Do Goody" gift bags for all guests. Center For Sight was the presenting sponsor for Wine, Women & Shoes; Dr. Fezza graciously donated his time and expertise to the cause in hopes of increasing the success of the fundraising efforts.
"I enjoy what I do and I like to give," said Dr. Fezza. Proceeds benefited Forty Carrots Family Center in Sarasota, a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to strengthening families through educational programs for parents, their children and professionals in the field.

Donating the Gift of Sight
Monday Jun 28, 2010 - Monday, June 28, 2010 - Twenty-nine uninsured people in need received free cataract surgery at Center For Sight's AAAHC-accredited surgery center in Sarasota. For more than a decade, Center For Sight has partnered with Mission Cataract USA, a national non-profit organization, to help eliminate blindness due to cataracts. Cataract Surgeons William J. Lahners, MD, FACS, Joshua Kim, MD, and William L. Soscia, MD, performed the surgeries.

Wednesday May 7, 2008 - Center For Sight participated in Mission Cataract USA, donating free cataract surgery to those that are uninsured and can’t afford to pay for the surgery.
This year, Drs. William Lahners, Joshua Kim and William Soscia performed free cataract surgery on 22 patients. Since Center For Sight is one of only three centers in Florida participating in Mission Cataract, patients are coming from eight different cities across the state.

Saturday Apr 26, 2008 - Over 100 Center For Sight physicians and staff participated in the Lighthouse of Manasota's annual walk to raise funds the visually impaired in our community.
National Mission Cataract USA
Wednesday May 2, 2007 - Center For Sight participated in National Mission Cataract USA, a charity event that provides free cataract surgery to those that couldn’t otherwise afford the surgery.
Center For Sight is one of only two vision care centers in Florida that participated in Mission Cataract and the only center on the West Coast. William J. Lahners, MD and Joshua W. Kim, MD, Center For Sight ophthalmologist performed surgery on 25 patients that traveled from all over Florida to participate in Mission Cataract.
