Melissa H. Hammond, O.D.

Dr. Melissa Hammond is a board-certified optometric physician who provides a wide range of primary eye care services to Center For Sight patients including vision testing, eyewear prescriptions, contact lenses and the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. She also provides pre-operative testing and follow-up care for cataract and LASIK surgery patients.
Dr. Hammond moved from Rhode Island to Florida to attend Stetson University in Deland and the University of South Florida in Tampa. She was granted early admission to Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science and graduated with honors with a Doctor of Optometry degree.
After seven years of private practice, Dr. Hammond joined the Center For Sight team. She is involved with numerous community service projects and is the past president of the Rotary Club of East Manatee. She was presented with the Club’s prestigious “Rotarian of the Year” award for 2012-2013. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and is the President of the Manasota Optometric Society.
Dr. Hammond and her husband, Casey Maloney, are both optometric physicians. They live in East Bradenton with their son Zachary, daughter Kayla, and two dogs. She enjoys baking and cake decorating, traveling and spending time outdoors.
