Dr. Gary Bockhold is a board-certified optometric physician who has been an active member of the Sarasota community for more than 30 years. A native of Warren, Ohio, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Ohio State University College of Optometry. He then served as a Clinical Instructor at the University Clinics until moving to Florida.

Since 1977, Dr. Bockhold has served area residents through his Sarasota practice. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association and the Manasota Society of Optometrists, where he was president from 1982 through 1983.

A past president of the Sarasota Sunrise Rotary Club and the Manasota Ohio State Alumni Association, Dr. Bockhold is active in community affairs. He and his wife, Kathy, live in Sarasota and have three children: daughter, Brooke, and sons, Blake and Gregory, who keep them busy in various YMCA, county and school programs. For recreation and fitness, Dr. Bockhold enjoys golf, racquetball and running, including the challenge of marathons.
