Joshua M. Newman, M.D. General, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology Location: Venice Dr. Joshua M. Newman brings patients at Center For Sight a wide range of medical services for the care, diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the skin, hair and nails. Dr. Newman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, and his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. During his medical education, he was awarded a four-year academic scholarship and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He continued his postdoctoral education with an internship in Internal Medicine followed by a residency in Dermatology, both at the noted Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. After completing his residency, Dr. Newman entered private practice, first in Chicago Heights, Illinois and later in Largo, Florida. At Center For Sight, Dr. Newman specializes in providing advanced medical care, including the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, as well as the removal of both benign and malignant skin growths. For more advanced skin cancers, he utilizes Mohs Micrographic Surgery in order to achieve the best possible cure rates. In addition, he offers patients the latest cosmetic dermatological techniques, including sclerotherapy for spider veins, chemical facial peels and non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments utilizing FotoFacial RF™. Dr. Newman is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is also a member of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and fellow of the American Society of Mohs Surgery. As a University of Michigan graduate, Dr. Newman is a diehard Wolverine fan. When not cheering on his team, he enjoys tennis and boating. He and his wife, Donna, have two sons, Jared and Eli.
